Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between disc tumbler and small pin tumbler locks?
Disc tumbler locks use flat wafer tumblers and are typically used for lighter-duty applications. They're simpler in construction and more economical. Small pin tumbler locks (like our R Series) use pin tumblers for higher security and meet ANSI Grade 1 standards.
Will these work with my existing CCL keys?
Yes! Our disc tumbler locks use the same CCL disc tumbler keyway. If you order keyed alike (KA) to match your existing code, your current keys will work. For new installations, we offer several standard KA codes or keyed differently (KD) options.
How do I choose between 266A and 266B?
The difference is barrel length: 266A has a 15/16" barrel for thinner materials (3/4"), while 266B has a 1-1/8" barrel for thicker materials (7/8"). Both are drawer locks. For doors, use 267A (15/16" barrel).
Can I order these keyed alike across different models?
Yes! All our disc tumbler locks (266A, 266B, 267A) can be keyed alike using the same KA code, allowing one key to operate all your locks regardless of whether they're drawer or door locks.
